Experimental Alzheimer’s drug shows early promise
CHICAGO (AP) — For the first time, an experimental drug shows promise for halting the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by taking a very new approach: breaking up the protein tangles that clog victims’ brains.
The encouraging results, presented Tuesday at a medical conference, electrified a field battered by recent setbacks. The findings by Singapore-based TauRx Therapeutics Ltd. are only from a midstage study, so much more testing must be done.
But experts who saw the results for the drug Rember were heartened.
“These are the first very positive results I’ve seen” for helping patients maintain mental performance, said Marcelle Morrison-Bogorad, director of Alzheimer’s research at the National Institute on Aging. “It’s just fantastic.”
The federal agency funded much of the early research that led to drugs like Rember that target the tangles of Alzheimer’s, made up of a protein called tau. For decades, scientists have focused on a different protein — sticky beta-amyloid deposits — but have yet to get a workable treatment.
The four Alzheimer’s drugs currently available just ease symptoms of the mind-robbing disease, which afflicts more than 5 million Americans and is mushrooming as the population ages.

In my hand sat a document sealed from a person I only knew as a mystery. I didn’t know what to do. Should I open it? And against my better judgment I knew that only way to find the answers I had been looking for over the past three years would come from what I held. But that didn’t help the sensations that flowed within me saying, “You are doing something wrong.”
Now it is clear that my mom had been hiding me from this man for my entire life. She moved from her hometown in Oklahoma, to changing my name, all so that he wouldn’t be able to find me. She was protecting me, but from what?
There are times I wonder to myself if she would have just answered my questions when I was eleven if things would have been different. Then I have to look at the other side of the connection, which included the ET’s, and truthfully I don’t know. But what I did know was that sitting in my hand was a note; a letter from him that could answer a lot of my questions and give me some answers of who I am. And if he is so wrong why would he have faced jail to contact me?
Shaking and scared I carefully removed the seal. Inside were several pieces of paper all were hand written by him. I couldn’t believe it…I was holding something that was done in his hand. When we were on the highway that day in 1974, headed to the attorney, writing a foreign name to me I never would have realized that I one day I would be holding in my hands a note from him. From all I knew he was dead and that is all they wanted me to know.
And what did the note say; to this day I don’t remember everything that the document said, but if I really wanted to know, I could go back to him and see if he still has copy of it. One thing about my dad he is really good at keeping documentation. He has made a career out of it just look at his garage or storage.
What I do remember is that the letter basically addressed who he is, where he has been, his family now, and whether or not I would be willing to meet him or call him. From what I read about him, he sure in the hell didn’t sound like this evil man that I was told he was. But out of guilt I gave the letter over to my mom, which opened up a can of worms that I could not control or thought I could not control. It was just a continuation of something that had occurred back in the spring of 1978, which coincided with the two UFO events and my dad moving to within 32 miles of where I lived. But that would only be the beginning of many coincidences, which has taken me thirty plus years to realize how complex everything is and can be, but that will have to be another day.

This week I was going to do a Blog posting on Missing Time, because of a recent personal experience. But I started watching Larry King Live and lo and behold, a group of experts and skeptics were debating about the presence of UFOs, so I had to jump on this one for my Blog.
As the program started I looked at Mr. Larry King, and thought if you shaved his head and stripped him naked, he would look a lot like a little Gray elder alien. OK—try to forget about that – that image is just too traumatic to handle; we would have to get out our EFT manuals.
Seriously, the program started out with an interesting segment on how UFOs in the 60’s, 70’s and even the 80’s have caused nuke sites to malfunction at several different USAF bases in the US. This basically meant deactivating the missiles into a no fire-mode. Three ex-military guys built their case, which I thought was quite effective. The thing that I thought came across was that the chance of 10 missiles with nuke warheads being de-activated at the same moment was like winning the Power Ball Lottery. On the other side of the fence Bill Nye, the science guy, tried very weakly to prove that it just couldn’t be. He makes a very poor de-bunker; maybe Larry’s team could do better next time.
Next it was Stanton Friedman – the physicist of the UFO world, although he gets ahead of himself and his enthusiasm makes listening to the debate somewhat difficult. But he is truly a solid, courageous individual and a very smart guy to boot. Stanton didn’t beat around the bush; he clearly stated out of the gates –Flying Sauces are real. No doubt in his mind. That is why I have always liked him; he stands up for his passion and his wisdom. Bill Nye again tries his lame grade school science to debunk Stanton. It did not play well, Nye turned red–faced and sat there shaking his head. And don’t misunderstand me, Bill Nye is a nice guy and a good teacher, but he knows nothing about the UFO phenomenon, and he was a poor match against these experts.

Maybe these beings have prevented a nuclear World War. Remember after we dropped the A-bombs on Japan, UFO sighting increased greatly during the following years up to and including now–look at the major sighting in the UK lately. Are they are watching us, and keeping us from destroying ourselves? Maybe. We can only hope, since it seems we keep trying to extinguish ourselves. I guess they need us for something, but for what is the question.
Well I understand Larry may make this a regular thing on Friday nights—You GO Larry. Maybe you are the King—or a small alien being in big suspenders.

The witness was up after a night time bathroom break and clearly saw from her bedroom window a bright blue/lime green flash brightly in the eastern sky over Fort Worden. She wondered about what it might be, but laid down again. She hadn’t been dong long when the car started growling, alerting her to something. Fully awake, she noticed a couple of shapes in the corner of the room, blinked and blinked again to try to turn them into something known, but couldn’t. Not precisely alarmed, she closed her eyes because she didn’t want to see them and immediately fell into a deep sleep. When she thought to look around for the shapes again (it felt as though it had been just a moment or two that her eyes were closed), they were gone and so were a couple of hours. A similar occurrence happened—without the flash of light—a few months previous to this episode, leaving her with a strange puncture mark and a bruise on her arm the next morning.
