Happy Ahau Day!
We are now less than one year away from the Total Solar Eclipse of November 13, 2012. From now on, these introductory emails to The Ahau Chronicles newsletter will include a countdown to the eclipse. Currently there are 360 days to go until the eclipse. Since the eclipse occurs on the sacred Ahau day, the countdown will progress in easy 20-day intervals.
This newsletter discusses a proposed archeological investigation of Robinson Crusoe Island and the megalithic monument there. After preparing my interview questions for the MEGA TV production I began to think more in-depth about where we should look on the island and what we might expect to find there. As with the interview material, once I had compiled the evidence for the proposed dig I realized how compelling the arguments were. Let’s hope we see some forward progress on this as we approach 2012.
